Christmas Haul: Beauty Edition

Before I start off with this post, I just wanted to a put a little disclaimer that I am in no way bragging or trying to show off the gifts that I've received. My intention is to share with you the new beauty items entering my makeup collection which I will be reviewing in the near a way it's a bit of a sneak peak to my future posts.

First and foremost, I wanted to thank my Boyfriend as this was his Christmas gift to me. He let me go a bit nuts on the MAC Cosmetics website and I ended up adding mainly lip products and eyeshadows to my cart, but I don't regret it.

I've always wanted to try MAC Cosmetics lip liners, but I haven't been able to convince myself to spend nearly $30 on a lip liner. So when he offered to buy my a few things from MAC I jumped at the opportunity and picked up five lip liners. I've also always wanted to create my own custom MAC eyeshadow palette so I picked up an empty palette, inserts, and individual eyeshadow pots.

For the lip liners, I stuck with mainly taupe/natural colours that go well with a variety of lip sticks because I wanted to be able to use these with my existing lipstick collection. I love that I can also wear these lip liners all over my lip instead of a lipstick and I get a very vibrant colour payoff almost as though I really was wearing lipstick. Since this was my first time trying MAC lip liners, I think I should share that I was amazed at how similar it feels to an artists pencil crayons! It truly does feel of high quality and the wide selection of colours that MAC offers amazes me as well. From Top to bottom, we have: Subculture, Spice, Soar, Whirl, and Dervish.

I'm always pinning away on Pinterest as I follow over 100 makeup boards but I came across one pin that swatched a ton of MAC eyeshadows and these six stood out to me so I knew I had to get them. Top row from L - R : Era, Woodwinked, Malt . Bottom row from L - R : Omega, Gleam, Retrospeck . They are gorgeous neutral colours that look amazing on their own when I'm going for a natural look. I also like to mix together the matte and shimmery shadows to create an eye popping effect. I think Retrospeck is the perfect New Years Eve shadow, I'm looking forward to wearing it!

I also received a sample size of MAC's eye makeup remover. It' s an intriguing purple colour and it seems to be odourless which you all know (If you've been subscribed for a while) that I love when it comes to skincare products!

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year,

I’m a twenty year old university student from Canada based between Brampton and Mississauga.

I’m also a travel enthusiast, traveling AT LEAST twice a year. I prefer Fall to Summer, I have a serious relationship with cookie dough ice cream (especially Ben & Jerry’s), and I leave a trail of shoes around my home!

I also love early morning yoga, dining out with friends, and I have a slight addiction to piercings and tattoos.

On my blog, you can expect to see the majority of my posts surrounding makeup or skin care as those are my two biggest passions. I love getting creative with makeup and sharing my looks with you all, and I especially love testing out new skin care products and creating my own products at home.

My long term goal is to start my own skin care line using 100% organic and natural products for all skin types, and I’ll be sharing my journey to achieving this goal with you all on my blog as well as my YouTube channel (linked below).
