Bam! Bam! I'm back again with another beauty post for you loves :) Today's post is my review and swatches of Fenty Beauty's new Mattemoiselle lipsticks! I picked up three gorgeous shades that I've been soooo excited to try out, so let's jump into it shall we?!
PACKAGING & DESIGN
The lipsticks each come packaged in the well known Fenty black and white box, which I highkey love, but the size of the product itself was a bit of a shock to me. The lipsticks are fairly smaller and thinner than general lipsticks, but I guess it's a great way to differentiate the brand from others. I would love if the lipstick was a bit longer though as I'm not sure how long these will last me, but I deff love the thinner aspect of it as it makes for an easier and more precise application (especially if you don't have a lip liner to use with it). Once out of the box you are met with an octagonal shaped bullet-like lipstick that looks super cool. Each lipstick shade has the FB logo engraved onto it, which is so cool as I don't think I've ever seen a lipstick with the logo engraved on the actual product. I would rate the packaging and design a 8/10 - I think it could do with a bit more size.
UP 2 NO GOOD
This is my favorite shade out of all three. It's the perfect peachy nude for my skin tone and it looks absolutely stunning with a lip topper on top of it. This is definitely a shade that can be rocked with any makeup look, whether you're going for a smokey eye or a no-makeup makeup look.
This shade is a "my lips but better" shade. It looks SO stunning with a bit of a darker lip liner and can definitely give your lips that plump fuller look. I like to wear this shade when I want more attention brought to my lips and I think it goes well with so many makeup looks.
I generally don't wear lipsticks as dark as this one but I find myself wanting to try shades that I normally wouldn't this year. This is a VERY dark plum shade that can almost look black if layered on. I don't wear this shade as often as the other two as it's still out of my comfort zone but it's SUCH a gorgeous shade when paired with a beautiful makeup look.
The lipsticks are very creamy despite them being called 'plush matte lipsticks', so they definitely don't make your lips feel dry or stiff. Make sure to exfoliate your lips before you apply these though as they grab on to any dead skin and make it super noticeable. I find that the shade 'Up 2 No Good' doesn't really require a lip liner because it's so light and natural, but I highly recommend using a lip liner for the other two shades. One thing that I absolutely hate about these lipsticks, and creamy lipsticks in general, is that they bleed. Don't get me wrong, they stay on your lips for hours BUT if you take a sip of a drink it bleeds onto your cup, or if you touch your lips it bleeds onto your hand, or if you kiss someone - suddenly you are both wearing the same lipstick shade. I deff recommend blotting and maybe even doing the 'matte lipstick trick' to prevent color bleeding.Aside from the lipstick bleeding, I definitely love this range of lipsticks and I highly recommend you try them out! I can't wait to get my hands on more shades!
